sopp+sopp Launches ‘SafetyNet’: AI-Powered FNOL Validation
sopp+sopp are delighted to announce the launch of our brand-new, AI-powered FNOL validation tool - SafetyNet - which uses advanced reasoning and historic data to assess accuracy, causation, liability, and fraud identification.
This latest innovation is testament to our mission of continual service improvement, and investment in the latest technologies - from which our existing customers reap immediate, direct benefits.
We’ve worked with fleets across multiple sectors, scale and specialisms for over 20 years - delivering end-to-end accident and repair management that reduces costs, downtime, and risk, - while enhancing their brand reputation.
In that time, we’ve seen the real power new technologies have in streamlining everything from risk management, to incident assessment, and vehicle repair - from dashcams, to ADAS systems, and connected telematics.
Here, we explore how SafetyNet AI works, and the advantages it’s already bringing for our fleet customers.
“We believe SafetyNet has the potential to transform the way fleets manage and respond to incidents.
It has the power to help them make quicker, smarter decisions to route claims and repairs to the right solution, the first time around - while also minimising the risk of fraud and unnecessary costs.”
- Callum Langan, Managing Director, sopp+sopp
What is sopp+sopp’s AI FNOL SafetyNet?
SafetyNet is an AI-powered FNOL validation tool, which sits within our proprietary claims management system to screen incident reports in real-time, as they come in.
Using data from hundreds of thousands of historic claims, SafetyNet reviews FNOL details as they’re inputted by the handler, or as they arrive via a digital report. This wealth of historic data enables the algorithm to assess accuracy, causation, and liability - and intercept common fraud markers immediately to minmise risk.
The algorithm also has the ability to suggest the most appropriate route for the claim, prompt handlers to collect specific information which might assist down the line, and even reduce the amount of data needed to complete the FNOL.
How SafetyNet improves the fleet FNOL process
SafetyNet has the potential to transform fleet incident reporting processes, helping them triage claims faster, eliminate common risks, and ensure unparalleled accuracy from the very beginning.
Here’s how our AI FNOL tool works to improve fleet incident reporting:
#1 - Live quality checks to increase accuracy
SafetyNet assesses FNOL quality in real-time as the report is completed, prompting users to provide more information where necessary, and flagging any inconsistencies.
It can also work in hand with dynamic filtering in our CMS, to minimise the amount of data needed to complete the FNOL - providing a real-time accuracy score, and using advanced reasoning to assess causation.
This means more straightforward incidents, such as those with no third parties, can be filed quicker - with unnecessary questions removed in real-time once enough information has been gathered. This reduces administrative burden on drivers, and frees up claims handlers to focus on more complex claims.
#2 - Automated causation & liability identification
SafetyNet triages FNOL cases as they’re completed, using data from hundreds of thousands of historic claims to assess causation and liability automatically.
This not only makes incident triage quicker, but also helps to ensure accuracy by reducing human subjectivity, and basing decisions on real-world examples.
Once the accuracy score is sufficient, the algorithm can automatically suggest a causation code within the claims management system - routing the claim immediately towards the most appropriate solution, such as third-party intervention.
#3 - Real-time fraud detection & risk scoring
As well as triaging causation, SafetyNet AI also scans FNOL reports for common fraud markers, with high accuracy - thanks to the wealth of historical cases it’s trained on.
The algorithm generates a fraud risk score in real time, and provides handlers and claims teams with detailed summaries of the specific risks, and the actions they need to take to minimise them.
This helps fleets reduce the risk of fraudulent claims, and spot occurrences of cases of insurance fraud, or ‘crash for cash’ scams, in real time.
#4 - Predictive claim routing & repair deployment
SafetyNet has the potential to assess the most appropriate routing for every claim in real-time, including the need for third-party intervention, uninsured loss recovery, roadside response, and even repair deployment.
This deployment decision can be suggested to the claims handler immediately during, or right after FNOL completion - and even has the potential to fully automate the deployment process.
This means quicker, more accurate deployment decisions - based on real-time comparison to hundreds of thousands of similar cases, to gauge the most common deployment requirements.
